Give a child the gift of reading!
America Reads is one of the preeminent federal community service programs in the country. Its mission? To mobilize an army of trained reading tutors to help children become successful readers.
America Reads tutors at UF work with struggling students in elementary schools and community centers throughout Gainesville. All financial aid recipients with Federal Work Study in their awards are welcome to apply, regardless of major. All that is required is:
+ A desire to help children become competent, confident readers
+ Ability to attend mandatory orientation and training sessions
+ Availability to work a minimum of two days per week for three hours each day between the hours of 8:00 AM and 6:00 PM
+ Ability to travel to your assigned school
+ Commitment to work at least one full semester

Advertised Salary:
$10.00 per hour
Minimum Requirements:
Must be currently enrolled at the University of Florida. Must be a Federal Work Study awarded student.
Preferred Qualifications:
Tutors must be available at least 2 days per week for a combined eight hours per week.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
