OVERVIEW:Support the daily, weekly, period, quarterly, and annual financial activities of the Sysco South Redistribution Center (RDC) in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and the corporate policies and procedures found within the Sysco Financial and Accounting Methods Manual (FAMM).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
+ Work to ensure that the necessary financial data is obtained and financial activities are practiced in accordance with GAAP and the corporate policies and procedures found in the FAMM
+ Review and code AP invoices in relation to respective profit plan data
+ Assist in reporting and forecasting facility and operational expenses as requested by the local management group and the corporate accounting group.
+ Assist the corporate accounting departments in the preparation and review of period, quarter and year end closings by performing reconciliations, etc., as required to support the financial statements for the redistribution center.
+ Review inventory adjustments daily to assist with the analysis and support of local shrink goals.
+ Maintain and prepare key metric reports as requested while working in conjunction with other local departments for obtaining necessary data.
+ Audit weekly/monthly statements from contractors when applicable during construction phases for projects.
+ Coordinate preparation of local departmental profit plans and related budgets.
+ Assist with the review of local fixed assets and the auditing of those assets annually.
+ Assist with the support and maintenance of the insurance activities in conjunction with the corporate insurance program.
+ Coordinate the preparation and submission of applications for licenses, permits, and certifications as needed.
+ Coordinate preparation of reports for regulatory agencies as needed.
+ Coordinate preparation for local audits as required including inventory, financial, and total facility.
+ Assist corporate accounting department in documentation and testing of internal controls for compliance.
+ Assist with the processing of OPCO incidents by researching, reviewing, and attending daily meetings to discuss each to make a recommendation for approving, denying or pending until more data is obtained and submitting approved OPCO discrepancies for payment weekly
+ Ensure that the scanning of receiving paperwork, outbound BOLs, and AP invoices are processed timely and accurately for record retention and further processing by other departments.
+ Coordinate the overview and communication requirements of our HHA and COI compliance of 3rd party contractors who come on site to work at our facility
+ Assist with the overview of ensuring bank deposits are made timely and reconciled on a period basis.
+ Assist with the preparation of ensuring freight claims, SMS/BSCC claims, and salvage invoices are supported with appropriate backup and payments are applied to the appropriate GL accounts.
+ Facilitate the PCard review of user charges and the documentation to support the transactions at the NE RDC.
+ Provide budget analysis and financial review to the local management team.
+ Participate in management meetings.
+ Assist with coverage of the gate and door access of associates and vendors as needed for the South RDC facility
+ Support the Human Resources and Operations Departments in the development and maintenance of projects as requested.
+ Must have the ability to maintain confidential information.
+ Maintain records, accurate files and filing systems; type memos, letters and email correspondence.
+ Understand and comply with all applicable company policies (i.e. attendance, Code of Business Conduct and Ethics, Associate Handbook, etc.).
+ Supports food safety policies, standard operating procedures, and prerequisite food safety control programs that meet legal and quality requirements and industry best practices as defined in our Food Safety Commitment documentation.
+ Comply with all applicable state and federal laws, regulations and policies (i.e. OSHA, HACCP, AIB, etc.)
+ Accept additional responsibilities or special projects as requested. Other duties may be assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS

+ Must be at least 18 years of age.

education and experience
+ High school diploma or GED required. An Associate?s or Bachelor?s Degree with a concentration in accounting preferred.
+ Minimum three to five years experience at the exempt level in financial management reflecting a progressive increases in responsibilities.
+ Requires MS Office Excel experience
+ Knowledgeable in MS Office products (Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
+ Working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
Language skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.
Must be articulate and effective with written and verbal communication with individuals of broadly varying backgrounds and educational levels. Must have the ability to maintain cooperation between all departments of the RDC operations. Must have good interpersonal skills. Must be able to effectively perform in a multi-tasking environment with frequent interruptions.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY
Must be able to work in a proactive manner, address issues, and solve problems by using previous education and experience in identifying appropriate actions. Problems will vary in complexity and there will not always be a clearly defined solution. Some solutions may require modifying past applications or creating a solution unique to the current situation but within the regulations that would apply.

WORK HOURS
This is a full-time position. The incumbent must have the ability to work a varying schedule which might include shift work (days or nights), weekdays or weekends, and some holidays. Work hours may vary or change based on departmental requirements.
TRAVEL
The position may require some travel to support the business needs of the RDC.
