Job Description:The Gainesville Fine Arts Association, Inc. (GFAA) has fostered and encouraged the study of the visual arts through every medium since 1923.
Duties will include staffing of the gallery, including but not limited to greeting gallery guest and handling art sales. Applicant will be responsible for becoming familiar with exhibiting artists' work/mediums and upcoming classes, setting-up building space, and the intake of program participants. Students are needed for morning and afternoon shifts Tuesday - Saturday 11am - 6pm, with some nights and weekends as needed.

Minimum Requirements:
THIS IS A FEDERAL WORK STUDY POSITION. ONLY STUDENTS WITH FWS SHOULD APPLY FOR EMPLOYMENT.
Preferred Qualifications:
Strong customer service skills and a willingness to work collaboratively with GFAA staff, volunteers, program participants and the public. Successful candidates will be trained on gallery procedures and art sales. Art students or those with an interest in art and the humanities preferred.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
