IT Infrastructure Manager

The IT Infrastructure Manager is responsible for the health & security of all RTI local & wide area networks. The ideal candidate will have proven experience with multiple implementations of multi-site, high availability networking solutions including multi-vendor networking. Additionally, the candidate should demonstrate high degrees of competency in analysis, troubleshooting, documentation, & project management. The candidate should be able to lead the development & implementation of a comprehensive network & telecommunications services strategy; provided energetic, creative, & imaginative leadership of the Network & Telecommunications Services department. They will plan & coordinate all activities related to the design, development, & implementation of the network, telecommunications, mail & mobile systems.
Business and Communication
Manages & participates in the day-to-day event response, incident management, & problem management for the voice/data networks, & the network hardware/software in order to minimize the duration of network service interruption
Ensures the appropriate tools & resources are in place to enable the team to respond quickly to outages & trouble reports.
Develops & mentors staff through on-boarding, open communication, training & development opportunities & performance management processes; builds & maintains employee morale & motivation; ensures the team is appropriately staffed with required competencies; fosters a diverse & inclusive workplace
Designs, configures, & maintains network infrastructure components; trouble-shoots network to diagnose system problems; identifies, locates, resolves, & repairs problems; installs & configures software upgrades, file sharing, & domain security protocols. Install, configure & test enterprise level network & server systems while ensuring & maintaining a high level of security.
Provides oversight for design/architecture, definition & enforcement of standards, security, sustainability/scalability, capacity planning & operations of our current & next generation systems.
Analyze business operations, specify & report inefficiencies, research top technologies, recommend cost effective solutions, plan & perform the implementation of systems-related policies, procedures & standards.
Designs & supports infrastructure & its associated software, including VOIP, call management systems, voice mail, interactive voice response, & video conferencing systems. Integrates these systems with enterprise LANs, WANs, wireless LANs, & Internet-based services & protocols
Establish & maintain a proactive approach to monitoring & managing network & telecommunications infrastructure. Provide ongoing information to management, customers, & peers regarding health of the environment, enhancements, innovations & secure network solutions.
Configure & optimize all telephone systems & services, voicemail & VOIP communications systems, Exchange, mobile, unified communications & video conferencing environments. Perform systems administrator & technical support functions for Windows based operating systems
Ensures that IT services are seamless, transparent, & effectively delivered, & that problems are promptly resolved. Coordinates IT activities with other departments & stake holders. Ensures the adequacy of the system & its implementation (including escalation points & notifications) to support 7x24 uptime commitments. Programs must be implemented that are designed to reduce network downtime
Research current trends, industry best practices & emerging technologies. Evaluate their applicability to the company and/or our customers & make recommendations based on future business needs.
Review & analyze existing application effectiveness & efficiency, & then develop strategies for improving or leveraging these systems. Develops trend projections, performs ongoing analysis, capacity planning, & technical tuning of the network systems to improve performance & makes recommendations for present & future improvements to assure maximum uptime.
Conducts testing & development of disaster recovery plans to detect faults, minimize malfunctions, & back-up systems. Ensures appropriate disaster recovery configurations & plans are in place, documented, & tested. Assist in the maintenance of a corporate disaster recovery plan. Establish disaster recovery plans for the Wide Area Network whenever data is lost from electronic databases.
Technical Proficiencies
Hands-on technical experience working with telecom technologies
Experience with Active Directory
Advanced understanding & experience with routing & switching technologies; 802.1q, STP, RSTP, MST & VLANs: routing protocols, specifically BGP, OSPF; MPLS/VPLS; firewall & load balancer technologies; IPSEC VPN(s) tunnels
Experience managing a high level technical staff.
Experience with PSTN & IP based voice solutions, such as SIP Trunking, Cisco VoIP, Hosted IPT
Load Balancing, Proxy Services, & Firewall administration.
Application Protocols within an Active Directory Environment ? DNS, DHCP, FTP, HTTP, HTTPS
Troubleshooting & have a strong understanding of computer hardware components
Experience with virtual machines (VMWare & Hyper-V)
Experience installing & configuring client/server applications & maintaining data networks
Experience with VoIP Telephony, Cisco Call Manager, Cisco Unified Contact Center
Three years of network experience with Cisco routers & switches or equivalent
Experience in large Cisco / Brocade environments.
Voice Over IP (VOIP) / Telephony experience
Experience with audio & video conferencing solutions
Experience with additional network technologies (Wireless, ACE, CNS, etc.) desired
Security infrastructure experience (firewall, VPN, etc.) desired
Experience with Network optimization devices
Point solution experience, such as Barracuda, Cymphonix, Websense, & Symantec
Experience with network cabling
Knowledge of TCP/IP, IP subnetting, VLANs, Ethernet, routing & switching.
Microsoft, Linux, VMware & Citrix experience or certifications
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED AND/OR PREFERRED: (list required and preferred separately)
BS/BA or higher preferred in related disciplines desired or equivalent work experience
10-12 years of diverse information technology experience
6+ years of network engineering experience
5+ years of management experience
CCNA or CCNA equivalent (Required)
Microsoft MCITP or MCSE (Required)
CCNA Voice, CCNA Security (Recommended)
Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) (Preferred)
Certification in ITIL or PMP preferred

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
