AxoGen is a regenerative medicine company focused on the science, development and commercialization of technologies for peripheral nerve regeneration and reconstruction to help patients suffering from traumatic injuries or undergoing surgeries that impact the function of their peripheral nerves. Peripheral nerves provide the pathways for both motor and sensory signals throughout the body. Damage to a peripheral nerve can result in the loss of muscle or organ function, the loss of sensory feeling or pain and can significantly impact the patient's quality of life.
Job Summary
The Director of Product Development will drive the development of biologic, medical device and/or pharmaceutical products for the identification, diagnosis, treatment and evaluation of peripheral nerve injuries, and for continued process development and product support. The individual should be a visionary who excels in advancing technology to business via joint ventures and strategic alliances, and should have versatile experience working in a start-up or emerging growth environment. The Director of Product Development will work with cross-functional teams to take new product and process improvement ideas from the Company strategic roadmap and translate them into projects, while complying with all appropriate regulations and guidelines.
Candidates should have a successful track record of leading by example with outstanding communication, strong team-building and planning skills, solid interpersonal/management capabilities, effective organizational abilities, and exceptional presentation skills.
Principal duties and responsibilities include the following:
Strong, positive, passionate and grounded leader
Lead Product Development Team in the development, execution and success transfer of new technologies, line extensions and optimization of existing products.
Interface with Clinical, Quality, Regulatory, Operations and Marketing team to ensure collaborative and effective delivery of projects.
Assess external technologies and strategic partnership to deliver world class products for the identification, diagnosis, treatment and monitoring of peripheral nerve injuries and repairs.
Form effective strategic alliances with collaborators, contractors, labs,
Manage, maintain and grow corporate Intellectual Property portfolio.
Support the development of departmental strategic direction, business processes and project execution strategies.
Be a technical and scientific resource for both internal and external activities.
Drive result and the successful completion of projects
Lead by example to successfully mentor and train product development
Bachelor of Science or Engineering with 7+ yrs. experience in medical device, biologic or orthobiogic product development
Master of Science or Engineering with 5+ yrs. experience in medical device, biologic or orthobiogic product development
Doctorate in Science or Engineering with 5+ yrs. experience in medical device, biologic or orthobiogic product development
Successful track record of delivering innovative, cost effective and impactful products
Knowledge of appropriate regulatory requirements
Capable and willing to lead and execute development projects
Strong interpersonal skills, mentorship skills, exceptional organizational and time-management skills
Ability to work independently and lead a collaborative team environment
Ability to quickly adapt to changes in departmental priorities and goals to meet company strategies and directives
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to travel domestically and internationally

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
