Payroll & Timekeeping Associate

Please note: This is a 25-30 hour per week position.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Perform a wide variety of payroll processing and timekeeping activities including but not limited to assisting with preparation and processing of domestic and international payrolls
Maintain confidentiality of payroll data and information without exception
Maintain customer focus by understanding and satisfying customer needs internal and external
Work cooperatively with others to achieve goals and assure effective communication.
Perform additional administrative duties as deemed necessary by Management
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED AND/OR PREFERRED (list required and preferred separately):
High School Diploma required
Minimum 3 years payroll and timekeeping experience preferred
Experience with ADP or other Third Party Payroll/Timekeeping provider preferred
Clerical experience including but not limited to, PC proficiency including excel and word required
Past experiences should include working with tight defined time lines and being exposed to material of which the highest confidentiality must be maintained
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Compute timesheets while having an understanding of overtime, shift differentials, on call pay and other miscellaneous earning categories
Perform a variety of payroll preparation and processing activities
Prepare various outside agency distributions for benefits and garnishments
Enroll and train newly hired non-exempt employees in timekeeping system and train managers or designees in the use of the system
Assist with the monitoring of the Timeclock application and equipment
Have an understanding of the Fair Labor Standards Act and its relation to Overtime
Should be familiar with leave accrual programs
Have some knowledge of employee benefits and tax regulations
Prepare and balance period end reports and formulate/compile statistical reports and summaries
Coordinate multiple tasks and ensure deliverables are accomplished in a timely and efficient manner
Exhibit excellent follow through in all areas of responsibility
Maintain a positive image to the RTI Community
Work as an integral team member
Must be customer service oriented

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
